16. The Chusonji Temple, Hiraizumi

When Basho looked the Bright Hall of The Chusonnji Temple, it was so beautiful.

It seemed even early summer rain avoided falling down there.

Sa-mi-da-re-no            (an early summer rain)

Fu-ri-no-ko-shi-te-ya       (avoided falling down on)

Hi-ka-ri-do-u              (the Bright Hall) 

“An early rain avoided the Bright Hall.”
