31. The Nata Temple, Kaga

There was a white tuff of strangely shaped rock in the premises of the NataTemple.

In his haiku, Basho described how the autumn wind gave him an even sharper sensation of whiteness than the rock formation in the mountainh.

I-shi-ya-ma no           (In Ishiyama)

I-shi-yo-ri shi-ro-shi       (more white than stone)

A-ki-no-ka-ze            (the autumn wind.)

gAutumn wind is felt more white than the stone in Ishiyama.h
