A stream comes from a mountain after many turns, and empties its great volume of water swiftly into the sea.  Basho describes the emotion of beholding this great  volume of rushing water.  

A-tsu-ki hi wo       (Hot day)

U-mi-ni i-re-ta-ri     (entering the sea)

Mo-ga-mi-ga-wa     (The river Mogami)
